Where did winter come from? Single digit temperatures made an unwelcome return to our shores this week, banishing December's gleefully unseasonably bare ankles and pom-pom topped flats in favour of 100 denier hosiery and heavy duty booties... but, in this tassel-trimmed maxi, H&M have come up with the ultimate weather-beating - not beaten - wear-all-year staple (just don't forget the 100 deniers)...

Taking the Plunge...

2015 saw necklines plummet to oblivion, and not just on the red carpet - Daisy Lowe rocked this little number at Glastonbury, no less, causing it to jump straight to the top of my autumn/winter wish list... But I demurred on grounds of practicality, until (a) Christmas Listing time was nigh, and (b) I came up with the modesty-saving idea of layering it over a high-necked blouse for those non-sternum-baring kinds of occasions...

In other news, my new-found predilection for statement ear-wear continues (thanks to my new 'do rendering my lobes on permanent display), with these Primark and Accessorize sparklers finding their way into my jewellery box...

Caped 'n' Cuffed

Having fallen truly, madly, deeply in love with Hailee Steinfeld's seventies-tastic caped Stella McCartney jumpsuit at this year's MTV VMAs, I was pretty darn excited to discover Pretty Little Thing's fabulously festive cranberry homage. Though perennially wary of over-egging the (Christmas) pudding, I decided to take Hailee's lead on the statement gold accessory front... throwing a jewelled ear cuff in for good measure (well, it is Christmas)... And, having repeatedly tried and failed to find an ear cuff whose fastenings wouldn't necessitate the necking of back-to-back buckets of prosecco in an attempt to dull the resulting pain (well, there goes that excuse...) over the years, Primark's amaaaaazing new £3-a-piece range is just about the best present I could have asked for...
