All White Now: Matalan Mesh Panel Midi + Nicole x Missguided Faux Leather Crop Top

I can't be the only one who's been desperately seeking the perfect sheer-panelled A-line midi since New Year, can I? Well, after months of waiting for this £18 beauty to drop in Matalan, it finally arrived... and it's also available in candy pink and eat-your-heart-out-Dorothy gingham: I dieee... but figured, for starters, white would make the hardest-working foundation stone of my summer wardrobe.

It'll be the perfect partner for pastels and prints, but who can resist a spot of all-white here-comes-the-sun styling? This £15 faux leather crop top is part of Nicole Scherzinger's debut collection for Missguided - one of three items I've snapped up so far (the rest to be featured soon), all of which I've been mightily impressed with - it's a bit like a cooler, edgier, better quality, and, best of all, cheaper version of the Kardashian ranges, with some landmark pieces at incredible prices - for a celebrity-endorsed collection in this day and age, anyway! One quick note on this top though - if you're larger-chested, I'd advise going up a size or two to avoid baring bra/underboob!

Minty Fresh: Missguided Pastel Co-Ords

Since monochrome has had rather a monopoly on here recently, I figured I'd break it up with a pinch of mint, proving in the process that Sam Muses is actually available in technicolor. These super-bodycon curve-hem tops and skirts, £14.99 each, are still available in classic black, summer white and sporty lime, but I couldn't resist a bit of pastel blue - perfect for mixing and matching with this season's candy pink separates too. The ribbed texture gives a bit of a ladylike Chanel-esque feel, non?

Stripes and Flowers

It's been a good few months since my last monochrome mash-up/floral-stripe showdown, and (do correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think I've ever combined monochrome, florals and stripes, so here we go... This pleated H&M mini has a lovely Riviera quality to it - perfect with a cropped tee for summer or a black sweater and opaques for winter, Parisienne-style, but, for this transitional period between arctic and slightly-less-arctic, I decided to try something a bit different (well, OK, for me, not that different, but never mind!) and pair it with last year's Miss Selfridge mono floral shirt (minus peplum!).

Gingham Gal

So, having supplanted tartan as the check of the season, gingham goodies are flying out of the shops.. I may have missed out on the crop top/skort combo I'd been eyeing for the last couple of weeks, but I did manage to pick up this gorgeous bodycon midi for £14.99, age 14-15 from my all-time favourite New Look department, the teens section! It's the perfect one-stop spring/summer staple, teamed with mono pumps for day or heels for night... And it provides me with the perfect opportunity to introduce you to my SS14 staple cover-up, the longline white biker... At £25, this feels-like-designer lovely is definitely my pick of Primark's current collection - perfect whether you're going smart, casual, girly, boyish, pastel or mono... and it's machine washable!
