Frill Seeker

Yep, in case you hadn't noticed, SS16 is all about the ruffle... And I just couldn't give this cold-shoulder Primark beaut the cold shoulder when I stumbled across it a couple of weeks ago...

I know everyone else is tempering their frills with raw edge denim and running shoes, but, for me, it would be a crime to bring a top like this into my life and not celebrate with at least one full-on gypsy princess moment... And with rather impressive foresight, I'd invested in this sweet little Miss Selfridge skirt three years ago - who would have guessed they weren't made for each other?!

In other news - Primark's new ghillie flats are even better than last year's versions... and even cheaper... I snapped up this could-be-designer 'snakeskin' pair for £8 - and that's full price, guys. The pictures don't quite do them justice (I'm still acclimatising to the new lens!) but trust me when I say they are one of the best investments you'll make this year.

SS15 Lookbook: 7 Ways to do '70s Style

For my first lookbook vid, '70s style was always going to be the obvious choice... a decision reinforced by the complete hair-over I was given by Schwarzkopf yesterday, prepping me to model their '70s/festival inspired "Hippi Glam" look on this season's UK Essential Looks tour... eek!

I promise you more non-'70s outfits will be in the offing shortly, but for now please enjoy my latest fusion of new finds (pink paisley dungarees, anyone?) and old favourites (yep, I've managed to wring a few more looks out of my kimono!).

Sneak preview of one outfit (and the new 'do!) below, but you'll have to watch the vid to see the rest...

Minty Fresh: Missguided Pastel Co-Ords

Since monochrome has had rather a monopoly on here recently, I figured I'd break it up with a pinch of mint, proving in the process that Sam Muses is actually available in technicolor. These super-bodycon curve-hem tops and skirts, £14.99 each, are still available in classic black, summer white and sporty lime, but I couldn't resist a bit of pastel blue - perfect for mixing and matching with this season's candy pink separates too. The ribbed texture gives a bit of a ladylike Chanel-esque feel, non?

3 Ways to Wear the '90s Slip Dress

For my money, H&M have definitely come up with the slip dress of the season... at a mere £9.99, I could scarcely believe it was labelled correctly! I'd been after a '90s style strappy number since last year, so, having rejected the ubiquitous daisy print jersey versions which are still all too close a reminder of my wardrobe aged 10, and the lace-trimmed satin versions which still somehow feel a little too "Welcome to the Playboy Mansion", finding this felt like the answer to all my prayers - not only free from flora, fauna and fripperies, but perfect for both day and night! I decided to style it up (and down) 3 ways, from grunge to glam, in honour of its '90s heritage... How would you wear yours?

I have to give a special mention to my "DIY" '90s style choker... Having relinquished all my original velvet versions years ago (darnit!), I spent much of Easter Monday scouring my accessories for some kind of substitute... and eventually came up with this jewelled detachable bra strap! Bought from Primark a couple of years ago to glam up strapless dresses, it does the job perfectly, and, of course, it's even adjustable - win!
