Cartoon Print Goes Pop! (Art) + New Look Nail Wraps

This £4 pop-art print Primark crop top is the latest bargainous addition to my ever-expanding cartoon print clothing collection. Sadly, I seem to have missed out on the matching pencil skirt in my size, but I think a block coloured version works just as well... 

As for the nail wraps, well, how could I resist?! I'm a (whisper it) nail wrap virgin - in fact, I hardly ever do anything with my nails, since they are such slippery little blighters that nothing seems to stick to them for more than a few hours - but I'll try anything once! I was a bit dubious about how long these would last, since they didn't call for heat application or top coat - literally just stick, file off excess and go - but, at £2.99, they had to be worth a try. As suspected, my first chip appeared within a few hours, although the smallest wrap remained pristine for a day. On the plus side, application was easy, the sizes were perfect for me (I have small hands and narrow nails, and often find pre-packaged false nails too wide), and they make great "accents" to a block-coloured mani, so you don't have to use them all up at once. I think I'll add topcoat next time, though... will keep you appraised of the results! These are now sold out online, but you may still be able to pick them up in some New Look stores.

My First Cat Print Dress and the Wonders of (the) Amazon

With pointy ears ticked off the list, I was still desperate to get my paws on some cat print clothing... So I'm indebted to both Daxon, who were as good as their word in sending me my £50 Amazon voucher for joining their VIP Blogging Network, and Victoria from Victoria's Vintage, who recently enlightened me to the feline delights that can now be found amongst the bookshelves in the Amazon warehouse...

This AX Paris dress is on sale here and here (strangely at 2 different prices!), with a few 8s, 10s and 12s still waiting to be snapped up. The elasticated waistline does require a belt, and I'd recommend going up a size if you're busty, as the waistline is quite high, but overall, I'm in love with the sweetly flirty style and elegant nude and black colourway - perfect for my first foray into cat print!

I'm sure it will see me right through Spring/Summer, but for now, I'm styling it with a chunky black jumper and ankle boots to see off the late winter chills!

I also snapped up a nail art brush and tool kit (first attempts to use it haven't met with great success, but this is probably more the fault of the workwoman than the tools - kinda wishing I'd gone for this one now, and blown the extra £3!) and two gorgeous vintage fashion coffee table books - 100 Years of Fashion and Marilyn in Fashion - I'm a bit of a history geek and love reading about the evolution of fashion, and how it ties in with societal change, but even if you're not, the pictures are lush! I'm sure Amazon are trying to make the need for shopping anywhere else obsolete... Which I'm in no way complaining about, as long as I can tick kitty slippers off my list next.
