How to Wear Cocktail Pants

When "cocktail trousers" appeared on the scene last winter (the "grown up" alternative to the sequinned jogger), I couldn't wait to road-test a pair, so couldn't believe my luck when I managed to snap up these metallic peacock beauties as part of my F&F #WinterBling haul... Now, I'm not going to try turning these sporty/preppy/boho/retro, because, in this case, I just don't think anything but a classic black court and shirt combo would work as well - switching up leather jacket for blazer as appropriate, of course...

These Miss Selfridge faux leather cuties were on my Christmas list, but I'd not plucked up sufficient courage to venture out bare-calved until this week, so thankfully they're not off the fashion radar just yet, since, somewhat surprisingly, they're quite possibly the most versatile trouser style I've ever come across...

Daring to Flare

The jumpsuits, the palazzo pants, the floppy hats, the fuzzy gilets... I think it's fairly obvious that I'm more than a little partial to a flavour of '70s flair with my fashion choices... but flares themselves had been off the menu for quite some time, so I'm more than a little excited to be welcoming them back into my life this spring! Having snapped up this beautiful bell-sleeved blouse in the Miss Selfridge sale, I couldn't think of a better time to go all out and dig out my old faithfuls...
